We recommend all PVC pond liners are installed with heavy duty underlay to help protect the liner from physical damage caused by stones and other sharp objects.

  • SealEco Greenseal EPDM Liners

    £54.95£549.95

Gordon Low SealEco Greenseal EPDM pond liners are a synthetic rubber membrane with exceptional physical properties making them very tough. The Greenseal EPDM liners are 0.75mm thick and are the ideal choice for lining ponds, lakes and streams.

Despite their different chemical compositions, Greenseal EPDM and butyl look and feel the same. Continued rise in the cost of butyl rubber polymer limits its economical application for lining ponds that require large quantities of material.

EPDM rubber was developed in 1959 and has become more widely used in building and civil engineering over the last 50 years than butyl. As a result of higher levels of production, EPDM has become more economical than the butyl rubber making it, in most cases the first choice for your liner requirements.

Greenseal EPDM is a fish-safe EPDM pond liner produced in Sweden. During production the EPDM is vulcanised (cured under pressure and heat) creating an elastic, chemically stable product with negligible ageing through exposure to UV-radiation, atmosphere, chemicals, earth, water and extremes of temperature. Greenseal EPDM pond liners are black in colour with a slightly textured appearance.

  • Geotextile High Quality Polyfelt Underlay

    £5.95£84.95

Utopia Koi recommend that high quality purpose made underlay is used when installing any liner.

Geotextile polyfelt underlay material is used beneath a flexible liner, not only to help protect it from puncture by sharp stones and other objects but also to stabilise soft sub-soils and reduce excessive localised stretching of the liner.

What makes Polyfelt really special is the quality and the characteristics of its continuous fibres. They remain unaffected by extreme climatic influences such as frost, heat, or moisture. They are UV-resistant and have no by-products, which makes Polyfelt entirely environmentally compatible. Polyfelt demonstrates high uniform strength in all directions, which means there are no inherently weak areas.

Utopia Koi supplies Polyfelt in a thickness of 150 grams per meter squared in a width of 2 meters which is cut to your desired length.

Don’t forget if you want to protect your liner even more you can lay the underlay two layers deep offering the ultimate protection.

Remember to allow for a minimum 10cm – 20cm overlap per strip when calculating your underlay sheet requirements.

The underlay is supplied in 2 meter wide sections and cut to length from a roll.
