Thermometers & Thermostats

Monitoring the temperature of the water in your pond is a vital part of owning a pond regardless whether you keep goldfish and the pond’s mainly decorative or you own a state of the art Koi pond.

An accurate temperature reading is as important as knowing the other water parameters in your pond such as PH, Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate. Water parameter testing should be carried out on a regular basis.

If the pond is un-heated knowing the temperature is vitally important when deciding on a course of treatment if there is a sick fish or if you do heat your pond, accurate water temperature readings allow you to control the environment your Koi are being kept.

You may well think “my heater has a thermometer built in” which is true, but its always worth being able to take a second reading just to make sure everything is correct and as it should be.
