Heat Exchangers

Heat Exchangers

Heat exchangers are one of the most efficient ways to transfer heat to the water within your pond and are capable of controlling the pond water temperature with ease.

Heat exchangers are not a heater in there own right but akin to a heating radiator within your home. water enters through the inlet pipe, circulates around the coil and then exits back to the boiler via the outlet pipe.

The coil of the heat exchanger is inside the outer case of the heat exchanger which its self has an inlet and outlet connection. This time however the water from your pond enters the inlet pipe. The water then passes around the heated coil and returns to the pond via the outlet connection. Whilst the pond water is traveling through the heat heat exchanger heat is transferred from the inner heating coil to the pond water.

In general heat exchanges are connected to your existing house boiler regardless whether it’s a combi boiler or an oil fired boiler via a zone controller. The heat exchanger requires a dedicated thermostat that can be purchased separately.

We recommend a qualified plumber carries out the installation and connection of a zone controller or heating coil.

  • Submersible Stainless Steel Heat Exchangers

High quality coiled submersible Stainless Steel heat exchangers are designed to be installed in a valid of water such as a vortex or drum Filter. The are simple to install and are designed to be connected to a central heating boiler either via a zone controller and dedicated thermostat or a dedicated boiler providing heating for the pond water only.

They offer extremely efficient heat transfer and minimal flow reduction

    Technical Summary:

    • Extremely efficient heat transfer to water
    • Minimal flow loss and no back pressure increase on the pond water circulation pump

  • Stainless Steel Heat Exchangers

    £164.95£324.95

Stainless Steel Heat Exchanger’s are one of the most efficient methods of controlling the water temperature of Ponds.

Using a stainless steel heat exchanger provides a method of heating water by simply pumping the water, on it’s return to the pond in line after its been filtered. Water enters the heat exchanger through the Inlet connection and then circulates past an inner stainless steel coil. The coil contains hot water from your boiler.

The heat from the ‘hot water’ in the inner coil then transfers heat via the process of convection to the pond water although it actually makes contact with the pond water.

The heat exchangers supplied by Utopia Koi are produced from 316 stainless steel to the highest tolerances, superbly finished making them superior to many less expensive heat exchangers.

Pond liner calculator

Use our simple Pond Liner Calculator to estimate the liner and/or underlay size required for your pond.

The result allows for an overlay either side of 30cms. You may wnat to increase or decrease this value depending on your pnd installation.

If you're not sure on what size you need then contact us and we can help.

Measurements are entered in meters. As an example if your pond is 254cm deep at its deepest enter 2.54.

The liner dimensions for your pond including a 30cm over lap are:
