Air Pumps

Air Pumps

As we all know, oxygen is vital to all aquatic inhabitants whether they are koi, goldfish, tropical fish, marine fish or bacteria.

Utopia Koi has a range of air pumps to suit every requirement. The range was purposely chosen for fish keepers to deliver that essential element into their ponds – specifically air.

There are many ways to add air to your pond water. Directly into the biological filtration system as close as possible to the beneficial bacteria. A moving bed filter system. Aerated bottom drains or air diffusers but the process starts with an efficient reliable air pump.

  • Evolution Aqua Air pump

    £114.95£329.95

The Evolution Aqua Air pump range provides high performance diaphragm air pumps for all fish keepers. The range was purposely developed for fish keepers to deliver that essential element into their ponds – specifically air. The Evolution Aqua Air pump has been tested and proven to provide the highest output at any given depth, to be economical to run and totally reliable. Well engineered, robust and durable, every unit has thermal protection fitted as standard. All Evolution Aqua Air pumps come with a 2 years manufacturers warranty as standard.

In order to have a healthy eco environment in your pond you need four elements working in harmony with one another. Biological filtration, adequate water circulation, enough water volume for you fish stocking density and last but not least a source of water aeration. Koi and the beneficial bacteria in your filtration system need oxygen.

    Buying Guide
In general 40 litres of air per 1000 UK gallons is a sensible level to work towards. Bear in mind whilst calculating the size of an air pump. We recommend adding as much air to your pond as you can. You can therefore use air pumps and air stones in order to distribute the air evenly through the pond water. Above all Don’t forget a pond is a living eco system and the amount of oxygen water can hold at saturation therefore alters depending on water temperature, atmospheric pressure and water salinity but to keep things simple. Water can hold less oxygen as it becomes warmer. A healthy Koi pond requires aeration. Take a look through our select range of air products for all your requirements. Usually a modern Koi pond mixes multiple methods of aeration. Therefore This helps to create the best possible water conditions in order for your Koi to thrive. We believe we stand out from the crowd. In order to find out more visit the About us page. We deliver UK and Ireland wide and can help advise you on the best solution for your pond or aquarium.

Medo Air pumps linear-motor driven free piston system has an internal piston inside the cylinder which is driven by an electro magnet and spring system controlled by an alternating input cycle. The Medo Air pumps piston forms a single combined structure of two usually different devices – motor and pump. Medo Air pumps are quiet, vibration free and offer the advantage of easy maintenance and a long operating life span. Medo Air pumps unique and simple design has no complicated transmission mechanism such as crank shaft, connecting rods and bearings which are widely used in conventional pumps.
